A STORY OF RESILIENCE AND PURPOSE

“I am not only dieting, exercising, and resting to stay young and healthy — I am doing it to live. To live with purpose. To live for others. To live like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said:

‘I want to live a long life — longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now... I just want to do God’s will.’”

— Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop,” April 3, 1968

There was a time when I was merely surviving — not truly living. Like so many others, I worked hard but neglected my health. I ate whatever I could. I rarely rested. I carried stress every day. I was alive, but I wasn’t living with purpose.

And I paid the price.

I developed what doctors now call metabolic syndrome — a cluster of life-threatening conditions:

  • High blood pressure (Hypertension)
  • High blood sugar (Type 2 Diabetes)
  • High cholesterol and triglycerides (Hyperlipidemia)
  • Excess belly fat (Abdominal Obesity)
  • …and with all of that came the      emotional and spiritual weight too heavy to carry alone.

But I changed. I made a decision. I chose life. Not just for me, but for the people I’m fighting for:

  • Veterans
  • Seniors
  • Black men
  • Single mothers
  • Essential workers
  • The forgotten and working poor

I live now with purpose — because I have something to live for.

A calling.
A mission.
A voice that will not be silenced.

I am Carlos Antonio Raymond — and this is my story of resilience. I am running not just to win an election, but to live a life that uplifts others. Because life is all about SERVICE AND SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
