“Bridge to Hope: Homemade Meals, One Soul at a Time”
Every week, I pack homemade cold-cut sandwiches, chilled mineral water, and a heart full of compassion. I seek out those panhandling under San Antonio bridges—especially elderly veterans and Vietnam-era warriors.
I sit with them. I listen. I serve. Then, step by step, I help them transition into safe spaces and long-term care. I've done it before—and by God’s grace, I’ll do it again.
While placing campaign signs, I stumbled across this hidden encampment—deep in the wooded corridors of San Antonio. It wasn’t chaos—it was quiet resilience.
Many of these men, often veterans, built their own shelters. Skilled. Dignified. Forgotten.
These aren’t just “homeless people.” They are former soldiers, construction workers, even pastors.
We owe them more than pity—we owe them a second chance.
